Great points Steve.

My own concerns about the iPhone are more to do with the fact that 1) they're starting out with only 8G max, which makes me reluctant to be one of those first buyers (I made that mistake with iPod) since I KNOW they'll want to increase the storage space - after all, with OSX fully installed this is really the beginning of a whole new level of personal computing, and 2) whether or not Cingular can 'raise the bar' of their own service in the US to match the innovation and excellence of Apple's interface/user experience.

I'm thrilled about the iPhone otherwise, and even though my income is many decimal points short of lavish, I will certainly buy it when it's been launched a while and my two concerns have been addressed.
