You&#039;re still constrained to what the various proprietary JavaScript runtimes will allow you to do. A framework just gives you an easier way to find the intersection of their capabilities.

(A &quot;sandbox&quot; defines stuff you can&#039;t do... local file access, interapp communication, etc. The browsers have sandboxes, just as the cross-browser plugins do.)
