‘The World Around Us’

Google’s Zeitgeist partner conference has commenced and the executive chairman, Eric Schmidt, kicked off the theme “The World Around Us” with this talk. It’s less than 16 minutes so it’s brief and is worth your time to watch as it provides a high level context for what most of don’t see: that the world is accelerating all around us and you should be optimistic about the world’s future.

  • The Google Zeitgeist page itself (Google says, “Zeitgeist” means “the spirit of the times,” and this spirit can be seen through the aggregation of millions of search queries Google receives every day. The annual Zeitgeist report reveals what captured the world’s attention in the past year—our passions, interests and defining moments as seen through search. Explore the most recent Year-End Zeitgeist, or take a trip back in time by looking through the archives.“)

Connecting the Dots Podcast

Podcasting hit the mainstream in July of 2005 when Apple added podcast show support within iTunes. I'd seen this coming so started podcasting in May of 2005 and kept going until August of 2007. Unfortunately was never 'discovered' by national broadcasters, but made a delightfully large number of connections with people all over the world because of these shows. Click here to view the archive of my podcast posts.
